Terence Koehn

Terence Koehn has always been enamoured with the land surrounding him: Kansas. He draws his inspiration from many different people and places, whether it is rolling plains, beautiful lakes and rivers, or area architecture. This talented young artist captures them all.

Terence's love for art began as early as sixth grade when he started dabbling with paint. He enrolled in all the high school art courses and studied under some of the talented art instructors at Fort Hays State University. While drawing inspiration from many artists, one of Terence's strongest influences came early from an Andrew Wyeth painting, Christina's World. Over time, Terence's skill and meticulous attention to detail have only become more intense.

Some artists go in search of ideas and inspiration. Terence Koehn merely observes the great high plains and paints images that communicate to the viewer the extreme beauty that he sees. Growing up as an avid outdoorsman heightened his awareness of the land around him. Terence has the ability to share his sharp view and sense of subtle change in the seasons of the prairie. His landscapes draw you into the vast plains, into the beauty he sees as an observer of nature. Terence lives and paints in western Kansas, not straying far from his family and the familiar surroundings in which he is so deeply rooted.
